Kristi Faulkner

President, Founder

A 10th-generation Texan, I wasn’t supposed to leave the Lone Star state. But moving to New York wasn’t my first, or last, act of defiance. Got a job at BBDO, became a copywriter, moved to Hill Holliday, and wrote beer ads for two years. Went to DDB, produced a ton of TV spots, and traveled the world. Went to Y & R and wondered why. Got to Ammirati Puris just in time for the merger with Lintas and left just in time for the merger with Lowe. Became a creative director on Johnson’s Baby, got pregnant, threw up for nine months and then worked on birth control until I was an expert–in business and in life.

Just for fun, I opened a yoga studio, sold it, had another baby, and started an advanced-media agency with Sandy Sabean. Watching media fragment dramatically gave us the inspiration to launch the first full-service agency focused on women. I came up through the legendary boys’ clubs of Madison Avenue, so I thought it was a crazy idea to focus only on women.  But the facts are indisputable. Turns out women fuel the world, if not run it. So Sandy and I embarked on a venture called Womenkind, and it turns out it’s not so crazy after all.
